Learn moreWhat it means to be a state-certified and sworn translator
As a state-examined translator, I have proven my professional qualification in a state examination. Through my appointment by the President of the Higher Regional Court (Oberlandesgericht) of Hamm, I am authorised to officially certify the completeness and accuracy of my translations pursuant to section 142(3) of the German Code of Civil Procedure (ZPO).
A translation certified in this manner has official status and is fully recognised by all German government agencies, courts and authorities - regardless of the federal state in which the translator was authorised. These certified translations are also recognised in most other parts of the world.
About me
Stefanie Balkenhol
I have been working as a freelance translator for English–German and German–English since 2011. My authorisation by the President of the Higher Regional Court of Hamm allows me to certify translations of this language pair. On request, I also translate from Spanish into German – without certification.
I work carefully, I meet deadlines reliably and have a keen eye for both linguistic and technical detail. I am always happy to familiarise myself with new topics and specialist fields, so that even demanding texts are rendered precisely and with a sense of the right style.
